The First Graduation of Many

A couple of Fridays ago, Jackson graduated from the PreK program at his daycare. It's kinda funny because the kids graduate and then show up the next Monday for the same old routine. LOL!

Anyway, the program was short and sweet. They showed a slideshow of the kids thru the years. Then they read the favorites of each student. This was Jackson's Favorite Food: Watermelon, Favorite Toy: Buzz Lightyear, Favorite Movie: Transformers (only because we watched it a few nights before on ABC), and What he wants to be when he grows up: a Policeman. A few of the answers surprised me. Watermelon??? Really??? We haven't even had any this summer yet.

It was a very cute program, and the kids felt really special. Some of the moms even shed a tear or two. ;-)

So much going on...

We've been busy bees lately... literally. Last Friday, Jackson graduated from pre-K. Then Saturday, we attended our niece's wedding in Victoria and led the Grand March, which was great, if I do say so myself. :-)

Sunday, we left Victoria and headed south to Corpus and Padre Island. We stayed there until Thursday when we headed home, via El Campo.

Friday was spent recuperating from our trip and doing laundry. Saturday I finished my very first 5K (yay me!) at the Impact A Hero run. And Sunday we're doing an upgrade at work, so I'll be at the office all morning.

I plan to share all of our adventures, so there are many, many more posts and pictures to come.

Zoo 2010

Jackson was so good in Church the other day, that we decided on the spur of the moment to go to the zoo. We had been cooped up in the house with all the rain that Saturday before, so we were all a little stir crazy. Here are the kids yelling "ZOO!!!" as we backed out of the driveway.
Of course one of our favorites is the giraffes.
Our favorite on this particular day, was the new baby elephant named Baylor. He was soooo CUTE! We sat and watched them for a long time.


Then Jackson pretended to be trekking thru the forest.
And no zoo trip is complete without a carousel and train ride.

**Wanted to give a big shout out to my niece Peyton. She had her dance recital this past Saturday and did fantastic! We were so proud of her! Wish I had a decent picture to share, but my camera didn't want to cooperate that night.

Jordan is just so silly sometimes. She just makes us laugh all the time. I don't remember Jackson being as goofy as Jordan is. So I just wanted to share a few pics. All little girls love to dress up. She loves her "fancy" shoes (Thanks Aunt Dana!) and her tutu (Thanks Aunt Carla!)

And she certainly loves her big brother!

Life sure would be boring without her.

Mother's Day Program

We had the Mother's Day program at daycare the Thursday before Mother's Day. The younger kids came out first and sang a few songs. Jordan clammed up as usual...
Then Jackson's class came out and sang. He's an old pro at this, so you can definitely hear him.

After the singing was over, the tea party began. Jackson wasn't so into it, so he went and watched a movie with some of his friends. Jordan, on the other hand, LOVED it! The dishes were glass too. Luckily we didn't have any casualties.


This was the gift Jordan gave me. It's a pen!

Here's Jordan with her cousin Julia who also attends our daycare. They visit with each other several times a day. Jordan just loves her to pieces.

This was Jackson's last program at this daycare. He's growing up and will be attending pre-K at St. Laurence next year.

Happy Mother's Day to me!

First of all, Happy Belated Mother's Day to all the mothers, grandmothers and aunts out there!!! It's been so crazy busy that I've just now had a chance to post tonight.

I had an exciting Mother's Day... or should I say 'weekend'! My sister, Dana, invited me to visit her in-laws in Fredericksburg, TX over the weekend. Her husband and boys were on a fishing trip and she needed to make a trip up there for her sister-in-laws couple's shower. Of course I jumped at the chance. Dana and I are great friends, and I knew it would be loads of fun. Her in-laws are great people too. And shopping on Main Street was good motivation as well!

We got there Friday evening and enjoyed burgers with the family. Saturday, we woke up early and hit the town. We started at the Wildseed Farms. It's a great nursery that grows wildflowers in addition to loads of other stuff. They also have a great gift shop, wine tasting, and live music in the evenings. The flowers were beautiful. "Thanks, LadyBird!" (that's an inside joke)

After Wildseed, we headed to the Circle E Candle Warehouse. Oh my gosh, was it cool!!! These are the best candles and they smell fabulous! We spent lots of time there!


Next we headed to Main Street. Main Street in Fredericksburg is full of unique shops and boutiques. We couldn't afford some stuff, but in other stores we found some great bargains! Oh, and you can drink while you're shopping! We enjoyed peach and raspberry Bellini's. YUM!
Needless to say, we didn't even stop for lunch we were having such a good time. And I bought some cute cookie cutters here.

Once done with Main Street, we rushed to get ready and headed to the shower. It was at this beautiful park on a river. The shower was at a pavilion fairly close to the water. It was so pretty. We had a great dinner and a really nice time.

On Sunday, it was time to come home. After Church, we packed up and headed back to the Gulf Coast. You really notice how flat it is here in Houston after visiting the Texas Hill Country for a weekend.

Thanks to the Jungs for their hospitality. I enjoyed a much needed break and a great Mother's Day! :-)

What a Weekend

We had a full weekend. Jackson had a soccer game Saturday morning and scored TWO goals instead of his usual one. His whole team played great, and he really tried hard. He's so much fun to watch. Thanks to Popo and Grandma Priesmeyer and Aunt Dana, Clay and Reed for coming to watch from out of town.

Saturday afternoon we watch our nieces Meghan and Kristen dance at their end of year Showcase. They did so well. And Jordan enjoyed watching and dancing along even if we had to make SEVEN trips to the potty. I made some cookies for the after party at Pappasitos.

Then Sunday we got the great news that my niece and nephew Peyton and Riley placed 6th and 9th with their broilers at the Wharton County Youth Fair. Peyton also won Grand Champion Showmanship. We're so proud of both of them. Their hard work definitely paid off. And I have to mention my nephew Clay that won Best Pie and Best Preserves in the craft projects and my nephew Reed caught a chicken in the Chicken Chase (kinda like the calf scramble) for the second year in a row.
