Summer Vacation ~ Day 1 & 2

We took our first summer vacation as a family the week of Memorial Day. We've gone on vacations before, but this was the first time it was just the four of us. We began our journey in Victoria where Kenny's Goddaughter and niece Candace got married. We had so much fun and were missing only a few family members. Of course I forgot my camera at the hotel, but here's a picture of all the girl cousins from Tamara's blog.

The day after the wedding we headed south to Corpus Christi and Padre Island. We found our beach house (which was GREAT... more on that later), and settled in as we watched the Aggies win the Big 12 Baseball tournament (yay, Brandon!!!) Once that was over, we headed to the beach for a couple of hours. This was the first time Jackson and Jordan have been to the beach. It didn't take them long to dig in clothes and all!!!

Memorial Day we headed back to the beach and stayed the whole day. We played in the water. We weren't there 15 minutes and Jackson immediately made friends. There was a family with two little boys, and they were all instant buddies. They dug and dug and dug for hours. Finally, they had to head back home to Houston.

So we played some more in the sand and made our own sand castles and flew our kite.

Then Kenny showed us up and made a sand shark! He obviously learned a few tricks from the sandcastle competitions in Galveston.

It then turned into a dolpin when the mouth kept caving in.

At the end of the day, we packed up and headed to the house. There we relaxed on the deck and watched the sunset.

**The house was GREAT! It belongs to some friends of ours. It was a beautiful two-story on the inter-coastal canal with a three-tier deck and a boatslip (with a boat!). We didn't take the boat out though as much as Jackson wanted to. Oh, and it's for sale, if anyone is interested. I secretly hope they don't sell it soon so we can go back! :-)
