Another Milestone

Jordan has been growing like a weed and has finally grown out of her crib. We took the side off of it a few weeks ago to make it a toddler bed. That worked fine except Jordan would push the railing away from the bed while she slept. That left a gap between the mattress and railing and then she'd fall out of bed. That wasn't good. At least she always got right back into bed. So this weekend, we brought her twin mattress out of storage and put it on the floor in her room. She was soooooo excited! And Jackson was excited for her. Our big girl!!!

It's Potty Time!

This is our powder room door. This is significant because Jordan is on the other side peeing in the potty. I followed her in to help, but she kicked me out. We got serious about potty training last week and she's been doing great. She's only had a few accidents. We're so proud of her and so excited. She's also figured out that she gets quarters every time she goes, so that's good motivation!

Our big (independent) girl!

***Update: She's POO'D in the potty three days in a row now!! I'm so excited I can barely contain myself!!!

We're Still Recovering

What a crazy weekend! Kenny flew out on Friday to Florida to play golf at the TPC Sawgrass with a fountain company that they do business with. The kids and I drove to El Campo where the kids had a play date with Grandma, Popo and Aunt Brenda. I went on a bus trip to Coushatta with my family. While I didn't win anything, I had a blast. I think everyone on our bus did. I know Kenny had fun, because he had a hoarse throat when he got home, and was exhausted. And of course the kids were exhausted too and fell asleep on the drive home. I think we're all still recovering from the weekend. And fun was had by all!!!

And how cute are these flower cookies that I did for the Majestics Dance Team!

An Announcement

I want to share my new venture with you all. The Busy Bee Cookie Company is open for business!!! As many of you know, my first experience making cookies was for Jackson and Jordan's birthday party. I had a lot of fun and cookie decorating became my new hobby. I've had some people ask me to make cookies for different occasions, so I thought why not???

I'll still share some of my cookies with you all on here, but I've created a blog specifically for the cookie business. It will show alot more of my designs and includes pricing information. You can find a link to the site on my favorite blog list on the left side of this blog. For now, I only plan to work with local clients, but who knows, maybe I'll be shipping across the country one day! So if you, or someone you know, needs some yummy decorated sugar cookies, give me a call or email me at busybeecookies@gmail.com!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

We want to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day!!! Hopefully you get flowers or chocolate or whatever you wish from your sweetheart! I'm just wishing for some more sunshine and warm weather!
We took some pictures before school Friday morning. The kids were soooo ready for their Valentine's parties. It seems like we've been getting ready for them for weeks now.

Kenny helped Gayle at the shop on Friday. He brought Jordan and I flowers for Valentine's. Wasn't that sweet?

And of course I made cookies for daycare too.

Kite Festival

So we woke up Saturday morning and HAD to take advantage of the long lost sunshine!!! So we went to the Kite Festival at the new Memorial Park. We got there right when it started at 10am which was great because we got great parking and we were then when the wind was good. There were professional kite flyers there. I didn't even know they existed. And there was a kite-flying contest for amateurs.

I had never really flown a kite. The sad attempts we made in the Eggemeyers backyard don't really count because we gave up after a few futile attempts. So to see all the kites in the sky and to actually have my own kite flying... in the air... for more than a couple of seconds was pretty fun!!!

They had some cute little paper kites that the kids could decorate and then fly.
These little paper kites flew amazingly! Here's Jackson helping Jordan get hers in the air. He was very helpful.
Here's Jordan with her kite in the sky. She loved it! And kept running back and forth.
She eventually tired out and flew her kite from the stroller. How funny is that?!?!?
Then it was Jackson's turn. He tried so hard with Daddy to get his jet kite flying. Here is one of the few times it was up.
Even though we weren't very successful with the jet, Jack did great with his paper kite too.

Once the wind died down, we decided to go to the playground and play for a little while.

Jackson is still talking about the kites. The kids had so much fun. We'll definitely be doing this again next year.

Another year...

...OLDER! We celebrated my birthday over the weekend. When you're feeling down about turning another year older, all it takes is two little ones to brighten your spirits. They sang the Happy Birtday song to me all the time. We woke up Friday and had cupcakes for breakfast. I'm sure the teachers loved us for that!
Then the kids went to spend the weekend at Grandma and Popo's. While they were there, they made a cake for me. It was very sweet.
We had to be sure and all get a turn blowing out the candles.

The cake was yummy! The kids (and grandma) did a great job.
After spending a busy weekend at their grandparent's house, the kids were tuckered out and crashed 10 minutes down the road.
